Date Palms and Cabbages

This family-run restaurant was popular with passing tourists
Dinner in the kitchen garden

We stopped overnight at a family-run roadside restaurant in Alnif.  It seemed a popular eating place, several bikers called in for a meal as well as tourists in hire cars; one family who stopped to chat were on holiday from Romania.  When we went inside to eat, were shown through the building and out into the garden at the rear where we were served a delicious meal amongst the date palms and cabbages.  The dinner of salad, eggs, chicken skewers and chips cost us £12.50.  Before we left the next morning, the owner brought us a dish of fresh dates . . . . but not before he had packed his mother off to work in the fields!
