Truck Outside NautiRadar, Lisbon

Tony was concerned that our generator output seemed to be fluctuating.  He spoke to Dometic in Italy who instructed Tony to carry out a number of tests.  As a result they were able to say that the generator was working OK and the problem was with our Mastervolt electronic control system.  We made the decision to travel north to Lisbon to NautiRadar, the main Mastervolt dealer in Portugal.

Paul, the technician, spoke excellent English and thoroughly checked the system, upgrading the software and adjusting the parameters.  He worked from 11 am until 5 pm (with a lunch break, of course).  In addition, our shore power plug had been overheating due to a loose wire and Paul was able to fit a new one.  We were presented with an invoice for €575, which included €150 for the new shore power plug. Tony learned a lot about our electrics, we were given plenty of advice and we felt the outlay was well worth it.

That night we stayed at a nearby campsite in Lisbon with swimming pool, restaurant and lots of family activities.  It cost €40 per night and offered facilities we didn’t really need.  We left the following morning and continued travelling east towards Spain.
