Late Saturday afternoon we drove into Rome, fifteen miles from Tivoli. We parked the car and wandered around Rome, ending up in St Peter’s Square where preparations were being made for the following day, Easter Day, when Pope Francis would address the crowds from the balcony of St Peter’s. Unfortunately, the rain began to fall quite heavily. Crowds were queuing up to attend the evening vigil service, we felt sorry for them as they must have got very wet in spite of their umbrellas.
We decided it was time to find something to eat and we were soon enjoying a pizza in “the best pizza restaurant in Rome”.
